What can you expect?

Gentle exercise

Go at your own pace whilst tending to the allotment and improving your physical wellbeing.

Being outside

A chance to get outside and enjoy being surrounded by nature, whatever the season.

Grow your skills

Keeping growing the gardening skills and knowledge you learnt at Greenfingers.

Socialise

The opportunity to socialise in a safe space and continue being apart of the SAGE community.

Everything you need to know

Plot 66 members have more independence in this group, working on various tasks around the allotment and helping plan what produce is grown and where. This is still with the help of volunteers supervising and advising on gardening issues.

Members will be provided with lunch made with fruit and vegetables grown on the allotment. Sometimes you may share lunch with the Greenfingers group on the main allotment.

Additionally, there will be spare bags of produce to take home, along with seedlings to grow on any spare outdoor space. We aim to nurture and support budding gardeners.

We have recently completed an outdoor shelter and laid gravel paths, thanks to a legacy donation from Jim Hogg who was a volunteer at SAGE. Many thanks to Jim's widow Marion for this.

Accessibility

Unfortunately, Plot 66 is sloping and may be unsuitable for people who have issues with their mobility. Please talk to us if you are unsure about its suitability and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience.

How to find our allotment

Our allotments are at Grimesthorpe Allotments, the entrance opposite Torbay Road. The nearest postcode is S4 7SN. If you are coming by bus from town then you can get on the 97/98 towards Hillsborough from stop AG6 on Arundel Gate. Get off at Scott Road/Ellesmere Road North stop. Walk down the hill on Scott Road and then along Grimesthorpe Road to the green gates. Come through the gates (ring the bell if they are closed) and we’re the second gate on the right.
