Days Out and Trips

As well as our allotment and singing group, SAGE has lots of other activities to get involved in.

Botanical Gardens

We took our Singing Through the Seasons group to the Botanical Gardens in Sheffield. We got to bask in lots of beautiful plants and flowers! Not only did we sing in the gardens, we made art out of nature and painted pebbles.

Canal Trip with The Ethel Trust

The Ethel Trust is a charity that provides canal and river experiences. We had a great day out whilst getting involved with operating a barge, riding it through Sheffield canals. Marie said, “This is so liberating. I feel me again!”

Heeley City Farm

In this trip we connected with other community growing projects in Sheffield. Our Greenfingers members had a day out in Heeley City Farm, which has its own garden that grows fruit and vegetables.

Christmas Tree Festival

Our members of the Greenfingers group went on a trip to see the Sheffield Cathedral lit up for the Christmas Tree Festival. There were over 40 Christmas trees that were decorated by local charities, community groups and business.

Longshaw Estate

SAGE took our Greenfingers group to a trip to Longshaw Estate, which is near Padley Gorge and Surprise View in the Peak District. We had lots to explore, outside in nature.

Singing Group Summer Outing

Our Singing Through the Seasons Group visited Chatsworth House Gardens for the summer outing this year. They basked in the beautiful flowers and landscape of the estate.
