We have a large, wheelchair accessible plot on an allotment site overlooking the Don valley, where we grow organic vegetables, herbs and flowers.

Working on the allotment

Members can come and dig off their frustration, work peacefully in the greenhouse, help cook a soup or stew for everyone’s lunch or sit and have a cuppa and chat and enjoy the view.

Gardening on our main plot

Our site was designed according to the principles of therapeutic horticulture and accessibility for all.  We have raised beds that are accessible for people in a wheelchair and platform beds for anyone who prefers to garden standing up or sitting down.

We also have a quiet space – a peaceful place surrounded by flowers and an olive tree, with a view over the city. Here members can come to relax, speak confidentially to support worker, take some time out and get some perspective.
